00 per hour starting January 2024)Position SummaryUnder the direction and supervision of the Event and Corporate Services Manager, the Event Host is responsible for assisting clients with setting up, conducting, and cleaning up events.
On the day of the event, the Event Host reports to the Event Supervisor.
The Even Host is responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined below.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesServes as onsite Event Host for birthday and other parties, corporate events, business meetings, religious meetings and/or events, and other special events programmed through the Addison Park District.
Events may be conducted indoors or outdoors.
Prepares room/facility for event use which includes, but is not limited to, performing set-ups and take-downs, completing required cleanings, and ensuring the building is opened and closed before and after the event.
Requires removing event trash from the building to outside the dumpster.
Assist clients in loading and unloading event materials from their vehicles.
Assist with general custodial duties, which may include spills or other waste materials.
Interacts effectively and professionally with clients and internal employees for events.
Knowledgeable and familiar with rental information to serve the client.
May be required to host outdoor parties (splash pad, shelters, gazebos, etc.
) with duties including, but not limited to:
Arriving at the rental site before the clients to ensure the rental area is vacated by the general public.
Ensuring the area is clean and free of debris before clients arrive.
Ensuring garbage containers are empty near the rental site before clients arrive.
Responds to all safety and emergencies following all required protocols and notifying necessary staff.
Attends meetings and trainings as requested.
Performs other related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.
18 years of age or older for non-alcohol serving events.
21 years of age or older for alcohol-serving events.

training provided by the Park District and must be completed before the first working event.
Must complete food service training within six (6) months of hiring.
CPR and AED certified within (6) months of hiring (District provided).
Bi-lingual preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical RequirementsRequires sitting, standing, and occasional lifting.
May require lifting-up to 50 lbs.
